Our Story

In 2022 we had an epiphany that the barn that was empty and taking up space would make a great place for people to come and stay! Imagine countryside views, relaxing hot tubs, comfy beds all in easy reach of lots of interesting towns and place to visit.

Fast forward though a journey neither o fuss had embarked on before; building what essentially became a new-build property pretty much from scratch, making the big and little decisions involved in the project, and the inevitable arguments over those decisions!

Applying for the council grant to help with the funding for it, stressing about spirallying costs and thinking of marketing strategies to somehow get people to come and stay with us! Throw in a new baby and a few other kids for good luck and we end up here, at The Old Barn.

We are super proud of what we have achieved and ultimately hope that our guests have an amazing stay with us. The Old Barn is at our home and we intend for everyone to feel ‘at home’. Hopefully our little touches and personable hosting will make our guests’ experiences thoroughly enjoyable, then everything we have tried hard to achieve has been worth it.
